The Auditor General of Canada will produce a report on the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS). DND officials are getting ready for what they think could be rough seas over the next few weeks about the program to build new RCN ships. The Auditor General’s Office has confirmed that the report will be tabled on the 25th of February 2021, only one day after the PBO’s report entitled “The Cost of Canada’s Surface Combatants: 2021 Update and Options Analysis.” The AG’s report will focus on how well the NSS has managed the renewal of the federal large vessel fleet thus far. This could be a double ‘whammy’ for the government and DND. Brace for impact!

More like brace for shock but I’m willing to bet the CSC will still have life yet.
Hope you’re right Ted as I have a deep appreciation for this program. It’s “sink or swim” now for the RCN. I do like “Brace For Impact”. Bracing For Shock doesn’t seem to have the same ” Impact”. Cheers!
How about standby for heavy rolls, I like that much better.
I like it Ted!!!
Ted,
Perhaps you are right, but I am also willing to bet it will not survive in its its current configuration or perhaps the same numbers. Irving and the Navy planners thought they could get away with dramatically changing the design of the Type-26 without any regard for program risks, cost escalation, and scheduled delivery. I think they are about to have a bit of a shock themselves!
Perhaps you are right as well. Again, “Brace For Impact”!!
