The RCN issued a news release including a video on November 1 regarding training on the Sea-to-Shore connectors
The two minute video shows the assembly of the pontoons, mounting the engines and operation of the connector on the water at Esquimalt.
The comments from the navy personnel after five weeks of training are very positive – “not just a new piece of equipment for the RCN, but an exciting return to a non-combat amphibious capability.” With the first connector in service has the time come to give the sea-to-shore connectors/ barges/ pontoons a proper name??
