The major impact of Canada-s new Indo-Pacific Strategy on the RCN would seem to me to be the increase in yearly frigate deployments to the Indo-Pacific region from two per year to three, with the third ship coming from the Atlantic fleet.
Using the ‘Rule of Four-for One’ this could lead to either the 12 frigates being devoted solely to meeting this commitment year-round or shorter deployments for only months at a time with the occasional frigate being available to sail elsewhere, such as Europe. With either option, it seems likely that the Kingston-class minesweepers will see more deployments to European waters to show Canada’s solidarity with NATO.
Only time will tell.

Would the government re-consider replacing the Kingston class? I know they had previously discussed replacing it with this Turkish made ship:

Relatively cheap and we don’t have direct political issues with Turkey.
Hello Justin. You can count me in your corner for the Ada Class Corvette to replace the Kingston Class MCDVs. A very impressive ship that will seamlessly fit within the CSC Frigate Task Group concept! It would however have to be “Canadianized” with the CSC 330 software with female quarters at a minimum though. Cheers!
