CSC Preliminary Design Review

By David Dunlop, 25 October 2022

There is a report in Breaking Defence from Lockheed Martin with regard to the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of the Canadian Surface Combatants. In it, Lockheed Martin states it will have completed the Preliminary Design of the CSC Type 26 Frigate by the end of this year. This will be "a significant milestone for a shipbuilding program responsible for recapitalizing a large portion the Canadian surface fleet," says a company executive. The PDR is "significant because it begins to finalize the “holistic structure” of the ship and what the Canadian Government wants for the ASW/AAW & ASuW capabilities for the Canadian Surface Combatant." This is something for the Forum to comment on. See:
