CAF and Social Media use

By Moderator, 18 August 2022

Colonel Tod Strickland Commandant, CACSC, released a piece in January called “On Social Media.” It’s about the use of social media by members of the Canadian Armed Forces. In this piece he acknowledges that social media is an important tool for CAF members to use. I would agree – as we have seen, other groups and individuals are very quick to put out (mis)information on social media and without words from legitimate sources, discussions can evolve into something that is unhelpful at best and totally distorted at worst. But Strickland also acknowledges that CAF use of social media must be undertaken with certain considerations in mind. He provides a list of things to consider before posting anything. It’s worth reading – and not just for CAF personnel, for everyone. See https://www.canada.ca/en/army/services/line-sight/articles/2022/01/on-social-media.html
