Lockheed Martin and BAE Submit a Proposal for CSC

As the deadline for the request for proposals for the Canadian Surface Combatant nears, BAE and Lockheed-Martin Canada have submitted a proposal.  Their combined proposal is for an off-the-shelf ship design and combat systems integrator. BAE Systems is offering as the design its Type 26 Global Combat Ship. (The Royal Navy is building six of these Type 26 vessels.) For the combat systems, Lockheed Martin Canada is offering its Canadian-designed CMS 330, a newer version of the combat management system Lockheed designed for Halifax-class ships. Other firms will likely join the process in the next few days.
